Description: |
PdfPrinter can create PDF files from inside almost all applications that can print.
Whether you want to share your Word Processor documents with collegues not using a Communicator, give a customer a quote calculated in Sheet, or create a backup of your faxes, PdfPrinter is the tool for you.
- PdfPrinter creates PDF version 1.2, 1.3 and the latest 1.4 files.
- You can set properties of the file, such as the title, the author and important keywords.
- PdfPrinter compresses the file, making it less demanding on storage space and also making it faster and cheaper to email to another party.
- You can restrict access to the file by specifying whether the contents can be copied, printed or viewed by special-needs viewers.
- You can even encrypt the file with the Standard 40 bits encryption (PDF 1.2 and 1.3) and the much safer 128 bits (PDF 1.4) encryption schemes.
- PdfPrinter let's you use the three non-symbolic standard Type 1 fonts Courier, Helvetica and Times Roman. It is currently not possible to use the symbolic Type 1 fonts Symbol and ZapfDingbats. Neither is it possible to embed fonts.
- You also get a version of PdfPrinter that runs on the Emulator.
There are some issues relating to PdfPrinter.
- Only characters that are part of the codepage 1252 character set are added to the PDF file, other characters are replaced by a space.
- Underlined and strikethrough fonts aren't drawn properly, the lines are longer than the text.
- In Sheet, graphs aren't drawn properly. This appears to be an issue in Sheet itself, as the graphics are drawn outside the clipping rectangle (the clipping rectangle specifies the valid area in which text and images are visible). The graphs can be made visible by unticking the Mask option on the Misc tab (the Sheet fix).
